About

The website exists because I have been sitting on hundreds of images of these beautiful old vintage guitars for four decades now. Anyone just getting into collecting vintage guitars would look at these images with great envy I am sure, as they would never understand just how it was at the start of the vintage guitar movement in the late 1970s. These were exciting times for those of us seeking these guitars out. I hope you enjoy looking through these chronicles as it grows over the next year or so.

Of course many of these images were shot on less than stellar cameras, and with little real skill at the time. Many are grainy, out of focus, damaged etc. These old images were sourced from either slides, or prints, some from the negatives. I used a Sony A7R II to digitize many of these old pictures, however some were done years prior on an Epson scanner. It is a time consuming process to get pictures like those from the Fender Factory Tour looking as good as they do, but I think the results are fantastic.

Thankfully we live in a world today with software that uses artificial intelligence to fix most of these flaws in old images. So none of this would be possible without the use of Topaz Labs Gigapixel AI, DeNoise AI and Sharpen AI software. For final sizing and touch up, I use Affinity Photo which is the best image editing software around. I hope you enjoy the results.
